Week 12 Learnings

This week I learned more about SEO but also how to include Social Media into the mix. Social media marketing is something that is a huge passion of mine so this was a very enjoyable week for me. I decided that in order to increase traffic to Target’s website and to raise sales there. I want to make a couple of posts on my social media telling people to go check out my website and to check out Target’s website as well. My main goal this entire semester has been to increase Target’s traffic and to create more awareness for Target’s website. By using social media, I can continue to make this come to pass. I also am working on creating a healthy balance between the paid social media posts and the organic posts. In my opinion, I should have more organic posts rather than paid posts. Mostly because all I am doing is raising awareness.

Week 11 learnings

This week we learned about SEO and how to optimize your webpage so that you can drive more traffic. I feel like I learned a lot this week. my website isn't at the point that I wanted at right now, but I know that I have the opportunity to improve and to make it better. It was really interesting learning about how you can make your website look more visually appealing and how you can raise your traffic. I also enjoyed learning more about SEO and 5 tips that I could use to implement into my own website. I learned that it's a good idea to have the keyword that you want to use in your website either on your webpage or in the title. this helps me out tremendously because I know exactly what I need to do in order to make sure that my keywords are used on my web page.

Week 9 Learnings

This week was a good week. I installed Google Analytics and Google Ads onto my website and linked them together. I’m very excited to be tracking exactly how my website is doing and how I can improve on awareness and interactions. I also want to make sure that my Quality Score is at a good number and I know what I need to do to improve it if necessary. I want to make sure that people are able to use my website on a mobile device. This is one of the biggest ways that I can have a good quality score. A lot of my people will be using their mobile devices to do their shopping so making sure that the website is set up for the mobile devices will be essential. Also, making sure that I’m keeping track of how my website is doing and make improvements where I need to.

Week 7 learnings

This week was pretty good! I learned about ad campaigns and keywords this week. Ad campaigns were interesting to me because there are specific words that are broad topics that could show up on your keyword searches. There are also things called negative words and what these are defined as are words that do not fit with your campaign. For example, in my case I am working on an ad campaign that will be targeted for women shopping for gifts for their husbands through Target. So, an example of a negative word would be anything that is related to womens clothing or gifts for women. Some broad examples are “jeans” “electronics” and “games”. Since I wanted to focus on these words, it really helped me to understand what I wanted to do for my campaign. Im excited to be starting soon and can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.

Week 6 Learnings

This week was an interesting week. So, I got my website up and running but ended up having to use Wordpress instead of Squarespace. No big deal, I’m more familiar with Wordpress. We learned about legal business models this week and what we need to do to obtain it. As far as I know, the one I should be using is an LLC or limited liability company. This means, I’m not liable for my own assets as I am only advertising what Target is selling. That takes some weight off of my shoulders. However, I was reading a few articles and it said that the best one would be a sole proprietorship. I’m going to stick with the LLC though because I feel like it would be easier for me to do and learn. I’m excited to start this but I’m also kind of nervous. I’m hoping that I can figure this out and make sure I’m doing it legally.

Week 5 Learnings

This week we had a nice discussion about how to create a site and adding a button to help people check out easier. I’ve decided that I want to use Squarespace as my website builder and I’m going to have a Target Affiliate website. I’m really excited about starting this. I reviewed a couple of websites that gave reviews on products that people eventually bought. Some of the pages on this website that I liked were an about page, a side by side review page, and a little blurb about each product. The about page talked about what the website was and how to look at different products. The side by side review page gave the reviews and gave a little description of what the product was used for. And of course, there was a pay now option. We talked about using pay now buttons through Pay Pal this week. I learned about how to set up an account and how I can help people with their purchases.

Week 4 Learnings

This week I learned a lot more about choosing a good website and choosing a good website host. I chose Squarespace because I really liked how professional it looked. It had many templates to choose from and all of them looked amazing. The only drawback that I saw was the fact that I would have to pay for a domain. The great thing is that it works well with Google Ads and Google Analytics so it’ll be easier to keep track of things like clicks and impressions. I chose Gator host for my hosting domain because it was the cheapest. Price meant the most to me at that point and I wanted to find something that would be in my price range. It also had a discount for signing up. I really liked that. It also works with Squarespace which was high on my list as well. It seemed like the best decision to make based on all of the requirements I had.
